Due to the very small number of Catholics on the island of Chios, Caritas Chios is financially assisted by Caritas Syros to achieve its work by offering:
-Essentials and personal hygiene items to meet the needs of detainees in the court prisons of Chios
-Coverage of medical expenses of one needy family
-Distribution of vouchers to vulnerable families due to financial crisis
-Participation in the Program “I love and I offer” (from January 2016 to March 2018) co-financed by Stavros Niarchos Foundation, contributing to the fight against poverty through the monthly coverage of basic living needs with the provision of food and medicines and the payment of bills and rents. An adequate number of families in Chios, Lesvos and Samos benefited from the program.
