A High Mass presided over by His Holiness Pope Francis took place on Sunday 5 December in Megaron the Athens Concert Hall.
Bishops form Greece and abroad, as well as the entire clergy of the Catholic Church in Greece (around 70 priests and deacons) concelebrated as well.
Forty-five choristers, members of the choirs of Athens Leonteios School Alumni VOX FORTIS, the Alumni of Nea Smyrni Leontions School AMBITUS, MANUS APERTAE and the Syros island parish of Annunciation of the Lord, under the direction of conductor Joseph Akepsimas, accompanied the Holy Mass with hymns.
In attendance were the President of the Republic Mrs.Katerina Sakellaropoulou, the Minister of Education and Religious Affairs Mrs.Niki Kerameos, the Minister of Development and Investment Mr.Adonis Georgiadis, the Minister of Culture Mrs.Lina Mendoni, Members of Parliament, the Mayor of Athens Mr.Kostas Bakoyannis, government officials, ambassadors and delegations from the Ecclesiastical Provinces of the Catholic Church from all over the country.
It is noted that all health protocols were observed, i.e. 50% occupancy and the necessary certificates.
